Look how Horny this guy is!

It's been awhile since I've painted up any circle beasts so this was a treat to get back to before I get started on my big daddy, the WWX. Also, this guy was a blast to paint. I love the giant goat man idea for some reason, and I can't really explain to you why because I honestly don't know. Maybe he reminds me of a time when goat men would run around with flutes yelling "Hey Herc, Hey Herc!"

I did a much better job on this guy, although I'm starting to find that the GW inks + picture taking makes the ink look super glossy. I'll have to actually get some Matt Finish to get rid of this problem, so here's a note to self. GET MATT FINISH!

Project WWX - Part 1

So I've recently got a WWX (Warpwolf Extreme) in the mail. The model represents and opportunity for me to create a truly impressive centerpeice to my army. This model is going to be an inspiring one on the tabletop, and stands really huge over anything I put near it.

For comparision, here's the model beside a Regular old Warpwolf:

Pirate Extravaganza!

The new pet army i'm working on assembling is the Privateers. What can I say? I was always a little hesitant to get into the WM side of things, but the pirate line really impressed me. There was an allure to the in your face attitude the pirate Casters take, and the character the numerous solos give to their army is tons of fun - not to mention how cool it is to paint up a bunch of pirates! I've decided to go with a Primarily Bart based force, but I have picked up Shae as a secondary caster. So far, his 350 point army consists of:

Bart
- Mariner
- Freebooter
Aiyanna and Holt
Dougal McNalie

From the pictures below, you'll be able to tell that this 350 is 90% painted, and only a bit of work needs to be done on Aiyanna and Holt to finish them off. As you can see the color scheme I chose for the jacks has a distinctly nautical feel that i'm trying to keep away from the rest of the army. I added in a few splashes of orange on Bart's beard to bring total coherency to his battlegroup, but i've left the orange off dougal completely.

Giant Werewolves Make Me Hot

The thing that interested me in the circle from the beginning was the Warpwolves. Since the days of the White Wolf "Werewolf" RPG, I have always had an on and off love affair with them. They were the real thing that got me into Hordes, since at first I wasn't so keen on the look of the Warjacks.

This was the first Hordes model I ever painted. All of the techniques were brand new to me, aside from drybrushing the hair. This was a vast improvement over my previous painting attempts and I will always love this model marked the transition to a whole new level of painting for me. (As kind of an irony, the Warpwolf Extreme will be the jump of my painting to a whole new level again!) As you can tell there are a few chips here and there on this guy as he's primarliy a gaming piece, and a well loved one at that!

Again, here is a situation where I saw the stock model and tried for something completely different. I wanted to go for a dark colour, and I thought the highlight from black to shadow grey added a perfect "midnight" feel to the model.

The Gorax was done in the same was as the Warpwolf, with a note at my previous stone technique on the back of his base. I don't actualy mind this model too much, I find he looks just like someone I know and it's just too hilarious to dislike.

The Argus again was done at the same time as the warpwolf for the Battlebox.

Constructs and Things

When I started painting the constructs I wasn't so sure on how I wanted them to look other than the studio's glowing green, so I elected to go with purple instead. I find the purple goes really well with the winter theme circle and really helps give the constructs a "cool" feel.

The formula is quite easy for these guys. Basecoat the whole model brown. Paint Stone Bits GW Liche Purple, then drybrush shadow grey, codex grey, astronomicon grey, then highlight with Astro Grey. Highlight wood with Khemri Brown.

The woldwarden offered more or less the same challenge on a larger scale. As you can plainly tell there were some improvements in my highlighting technique.

The Woldwyrd offered me a chance to play with some blending on his "eye". I could probably still do a bit of work to make it really pop, but with the pirates on the table it's hard to find time.

Introduction!

Ladies and Gentlemen! Here I am signing in to the blog of the century!

Alright just so everyone can get to know who I am I will do a little introduction. I am 21 years young living in Toronto Ontario. I have recently started my own business in the personal chef and catering industry and that is what I am focusing on right now. I used to work for Games Workshop managing their Eaton Centre location. Now I have moved on to become a Press Ganger for PP which is awesome fun!

Well now that is over lets talk paint shall we! I have a rediculous amount of painted armies for GW and PP I have 1 Golden Daemon and 1 Silver Daemon. I like to focus on armies mostly but I occasionally take the time to paint single figures. More recently I have been working on my Protectorate of Menoth Army which has just hit 2000 points of painted stuff! I have just made purchase of a Khador army which I will now be spending a bunch of time on to make exceptionally pretty.

Here is a sample of some of my work:

Alright! Glasses up to the first post! It has been fun bloggin with ya! Hope you all come back to keep check and make sure I still am posting. If i'm not just give me a good swift kick in the a$$.
